I couldn't wait until king cake season to over indulge in some bywater bakery king cakes. One weekend I ordered the savory creamy seafood filled king cake and it was do good. The crust had colored Parmesan cheese on it. The very next weekend I ordered the chantilly king cake. It was do good that I had to go bring some to my sister so that I wouldn't end up eating an entire king cake alone
They are AMAZING! We try to go as often as possible JUST for the chocolate chip cookies! Both the breakfast gumbo and breakfast scramble go cups are delicious!
Great local spot for good eats and sidewalk cafe. It's Local favorite and traveling musicians. Stop by there to perform great atmosphere. It was a little bustling when we were there, but then again that was high season for king cakes.
This popular bakery in the neighborhood was so lively on a Sunday morning! They had musicians playing in front of the bakery so we could hear this place before seeing it. The person who took our order at the front was very sweet and helpful, giving good recs on which cake to try. The classic berry chantilly cake certainly did not disappoint. It was so delicious and I loved the fragrant almond flavor coming from the airy cake. I wish I could could have this cake ordered for all of my celebrations. We also got the chai latte and americano which paired well with the cake. This is a lovely bakery that everyone should certainly try when visiting NOLA!
Definitely lives up to being NOLA's best! We had a slice of the berry chantilly cake. The sponge was so light it felt like eating a cloud! My fiancé is gluten-free and he really loved the gluten-free brownie bomb. It had crispy exterior and a super gooey interior which is the perfect brownie in our opinion! I also had the orange cranberry muffin and it was the perfect blend of tangy and sweet. Service was okay. Everyone was nice and polite. We came on a sunday and there was a live band playing outside. It really added to the laidback afternoon vibe we were looking for. There's also a local artist selling their pieces inside. Absolutely coming back to try more chantilly cake flavors and their sandwich offerings. That curry chicken on a brioche slice was looking really tempting!
Came here for a king cake and tried out the carnival one which didn't have anything inside of it. It was really good and not super sweet! They had samples of this coconut cake that was delicious too!
Passion fruit pineapple King Cake is absolutely delicious! The peanut brittle cookie is soft, sweet, strong peanut butter flavor, and a little caramelized chew underneath and on the edges.. so good! I received a very warm greeting from the nice staff and the reggae gave a relaxed vibe. I am impressed and so glad I literally ran out here!
This California girl might've been too much for the counter. Oh well, it was amazing! By the smells, and the people that are continuing to walk in this place has got some good stuff to offer. Looking forward to my first bites to enjoy the wonderful Yummies that I just picked up.
Bywater Bakery is a mouthwatering magical wonderland of baked goods. When you enter, you can either order at the counter, or go over to the pastry case and self serve most of the day's selection into wax paper bags before checking out. From there, ladened with goodies, you can find a seat in the charming mixed furniture back room. My husband and I couldn't help ourselves, and we ordered more than we could eat and then mistakenly ate it all anyways. We had the blueberry mini bundt cake, everything croissant, sweet potato cinnamon roll, and a slice of the key lime chantilly cake. You can order full cakes for celebrations too. If I lived in town, I am sure I would find random nonsensical reasons to celebrate simply so I could order another cake.
We love visiting this spot when in New Orleans. The SEC breakfast sandwich is fabulous! I tried a gf blueberry muffin and it was amazing.
